Goal Management Software
Supports: What’s Expected? – Defines the goals and priorities that guide performance throughout the review period.
Connect organizational strategy with team and individual goals in one configurable platform. Centranum helps organizations define clear priorities, align goals across the organization, track progress throughout the performance period, and incorporate goal achievement into performance conversations and reviews.
Why Goal Management Matters
Clear goals help employees understand what they are expected to achieve and how their work contributes to broader organizational priorities. Without a structured goal management process, objectives can become disconnected from strategy, progress is difficult to monitor, and performance conversations often rely on memory rather than evidence.
Centranum connects organizational, team and individual goals within one platform, providing visibility into progress throughout the performance period and ensuring goal achievement becomes part of ongoing performance management rather than an annual exercise.
How Goal Management works

1. Define Organizational Objectives
Create a configurable library of organizational objectives using your preferred strategic planning framework, including Balanced Scorecards or other business planning models. Objectives can be organized into configurable categories and provide the strategic direction for goal management across the organization.
2. Create a Standard Goal Library
Build a library of standard goals that support your organizational objectives. Standard goals provide consistency across similar roles while reducing the effort required to create individual goals.
Each standard goal is aligned with an organizational objective, ensuring strategic alignment throughout the organization.
3. Create Individual Goals
Every individual goal is linked to an organizational objective, either directly or through a standard goal.
Individual goals can be:
- selected from the standard goal library
- created by employees
- assigned by managers individually or in bulk
This flexible approach supports both standardized organizational goals and role-specific objectives while maintaining alignment with organizational strategy.
4. Define Success Measures
Each goal must include one or more measures that define how success will be evaluated.
Measures can be selected from a configurable KPI library or created specifically for an individual goal. Organizations can use descriptive measures or quantitative targets, including percentages, counts, values and other configurable measurement types.
Requiring at least one measure helps ensure goals are specific and measurable.
5. Review and Approve Goals
Configurable approval workflows help ensure goals are agreed before work begins. For example, managers can propose or assign goals which employees then review and acknowledge, creating a shared understanding of expectations.
6. Track Progress
Monitor goal progress throughout the performance period using configurable status values, percentage completion and ongoing progress updates. Managers and employees have visibility into current progress, completed milestones and outstanding priorities.
The integrated Journal provides a continuous record of goal-related notes, achievements and performance conversations, creating supporting evidence throughout the review period rather than relying on end-of-year recollection. This helps managers and employees document progress, discuss challenges and record significant achievements as they occur.
7. Connect Goals with Performance Reviews
Goals and progress are automatically displayed within Performance Reviews, allowing managers and employees to evaluate achievement using current information without duplicating data entry.
8. Goal Analytics
Monitor goal creation, approvals and progress across teams and the organization through configurable analytics and reporting.
